We are a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, physicists, clinicians, students, and administrative staff. We all work together to make CMR faster, safer, and more accessible.

Matthias Friedrich, MD,
FESC, FACC, MSCMR

Director - CMR

Our Director is a cardiologist at the McGill University Health Centre and an internationally-renowned clinician-scientist with expertise in Cardiac MRI.

He is the Principal Investigator for numerous research projects, as well as a co-investigator for multicentre collaborations with teams from around the world.

Judy Luu, MD/PhD, FRCPC

Director - CMR Research

Dr. Luu is a women's heart health cardiologist with expertise in CMR. Her research interest includes understanding sex and gender differences in cardiovascular disease, and improving both diagnostic and clinical management for women. Dr. Luu works closely with graduate students to identify project goals, develop research proposals, and prepare manuscripts for publication. She helps co-lead multiple collaborative CMR studies with national and international partners.

Michael Chetrit, MD, FRCPC

Director - Clinical CMR

Dr. Michael Chetrit is a senior Research Scientist in the Courtois Research Group at the Research Institute of the McGill University (RI-MUHC). He is a co-investigator in several of the projects in the group with a focus on myocardial characterization, cardiac amyloidosis and novel MRI protocols. Dr. Chetrit is responsible for preparing and conducting research projects and ensures all projects in accordance with the ethics review board.
